Do I need an account?
You don't need an account to view product info or to submit print + online advertising, but you'll need to create one to post jobs online-only.

You may need to reset your password. Be sure to enter the e-mail address that was used to set up your account.

How do I change my e-mail address, password, or contact info?
Log into your account. Select "My Tools" and click on "Account Information" or "Account Profile" to update these items.

Why do I get an error message when I try to check out?

  1. Confirm that billing name and address match those on the credit card.
  2. Particularly if this is the first time you've used your credit card online, the issuer may block the transaction until you've verified it. You'll need to contact your credit card issuer. Once you've done so, log in again and complete the check out process.
  3. If you initiate multiple transactions the same day on this or other sites, your financial institution may flag your account for suspicious activity. You will need to contact the card issuer to verify the transaction. Then log in again and complete the check out process.

Online Job Posting

How do I post a job?
Click this link to log into your account and navigate to the right place. Select your product and upgrades. The system then prompts you to post job details. When purchasing a multi-job value pack, you'll pay first and then post job details afterward.

How do I edit my job?
Edit online-only listings by logging into your account and selecting the job within "Job Manager". For print + online ads, copy changes must be in writing. Please e-mail or fax changes to (312) 464-5909.

How can I select multiple specialties when posting my job?
While a print ad can appear only under 1 section heading, opportunities on JAMA Career Center may be listed under 1 to 5 specialties. For online-only postings, be sure to select 1 or more specialties from the relevant scroll box. For print + online ads, please advise your advertising representative of the relevant specialties.

I need to post a job that has multiple locations.
E-commerce postings can have only one location. You may include additional locations within the body of the listing, or you may wish to purchase a multi-job value pack to create a listing for each location.

A print + online ad can have up to 5 geographic locations. Please advise your advertising representative of the relevant addresses for each position when you place your order.

How do I make my job confidential so that company name doesn't appear?
For online-only postings, be sure to select "Company Confidential" in the apply contact information.

For print + online advertising, please advise your advertising representative when placing your order. We offer reply box numbers to confidentially track responses to your ads. Box replies are sent First-Class Mail on a daily basis.

When will my job go live on the site?
Online-only ads generally post within 1 workday of submission. Print + online job listings are updated weekly on Friday evenings.

My job doesn't seem to be getting responses. What's wrong?
Your online posting can have virtually unlimited copy. Make your posting more attractive by including unique attributes of the position, institution, and community. If possible, choose an evocative job title rather than a generic one. Minimize abbreviations. Use words and phrases that job seekers are likely to search on. Think about keywords a jobseeker will use. Look at jobs posted by other employers. Consider purchasing an employer profile or other upgrades to help your posting stand out from similar opportunities.

How do I renew a job posting?
Online-only job postings may be renewed by selecting the job under the "Job Manager" tab. Be sure to check the box next to the job and click the renew button. The system will take you through the additional steps. If you would like to renew a print or print + online ad, please contact an advertising representative.

How do I replicate a posting for use in a multi-job value pack?
This procedure assumes that you've already purchased your job pack. Log in to your account. Click the "Job Manager" tab. Click on the "Copy" icon in the middle of the actions to the right of the posted job. On the next screen, be sure the radio button is selected next to the prepaid packages option. Click "Continue." Note: if you choose to upgrade, you'll have to pay for the upgrade outside the job pack. Click "Continue." Edit the existing job to meet the new requirements. Be sure that the apply information is correct for the new job. Click "Continue." Your job will appear under the "Job Manager" tab with a status of "pending approval."
